The first years of life are the foundation for everything that follows. Success builds upon success. Unfortunately, the opposite is true, too. Tennessee’s kids need early opportunities for learning and growth so they are on track for success in school and a productive life. This is critical not only for educational reasons, but also because these early learning opportunities keep children away from crime later in life. Kids who stay in school and graduate are more likely to become productive citizens, and less likely to turn to crime.
