Prosecuting Attorney Mathias Heck joins national leaders to develop initiative to reduce child abuse and neglect deaths

Montgomery County Prosecuting Attorney Mathias Heck joined other leaders in child abuse and neglect prevention in Washington, D.C. today at the Child Abuse and Neglect Deaths Working Summit to develop initiatives critical to reducing child abuse and neglect deaths. Prosecuting Attorney Heck spoke on a panel representing the law enforcement community charged with uncovering instances of child abuse and neglect and prosecuting the offenders. Heck pointed to voluntary home-visiting programs, such as the Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP), as one program particularly effective in curbing instances of child abuse and neglect.
