(Billings) – Fight Crime: Invest In Kids Montana, led by Montana’s county attorneys, sheriffs and police chiefs, honored County Attorney John Parker (Cascade County) at the Montana State County Attorneys Association’s annual winter meeting and training session December 1st in Billings with Fight Crime: Invest in Kids Montana’s prestigious Champion’s Award.
Fight Crime: Invest in Kids State Director, Dave Curry, presented the award.
Curry said, “Preventing crime up front and early rather than waiting for children to commit crimes later in life is in the best interest of our children and our communities. County Attorney Parker shares that vision and has worked tirelessly with policymakers and the public to encourage them to make wise investments in early prevention programs.”
Western Regional Director Martha Brooks also on hand to help present the award added, “We are pleased to honor John Parker for his commitment to early intervention and prevention programs that help give kids the right start in life.
County Attorney Parker was specifically honored by Fight Crime: Invest in Kids Montana for his work on child abuse and neglect prevention, adequate and safe foster care, quality early childhood and care programs and after school programs. Proven programs, such as the ones Parker has worked on, not only save taxpayers money but also are the most powerful weapons against crime and keep kids from becoming criminals in the first place. County Attorney Parker has been a member of Fight Crime: Invest in Kids Montana for 4 years.
