Law enforcement brief Congress on education reform legislation



WASHINGTON, DC (April 11, 2011) — Local police brass meet on Capitol Hill to discuss education reform as a way to reduce crime. Soon Congress is expected to consider legislation to reauthorize the Elementary and Secondary Education Act. ESEA reauthorization presents an opportunity to advance several important reforms around early learning, school climate and school discipline, that will help reduce crime, make our schools and communities safer, keep kids in school and, and save money in the long run.
