Fight Crime Invest in Kids Ohio America must cut the pipeline that funnels young people into lives of crime and violence. We take a hard-nosed look at research on what keeps kids from becoming criminals and put that information in the hands of policy-makers and the public.

Parenting Programs Supported

CINCINNATI, OH, April 12, 2006...In-home parent coaching programs offer first-time, low-income parents-typically unmarried women- weekly visits from nurses or other trained coaches starting during pregnancy and continuing during the child's early years.

Every Child Succeeds is one such program. The collaborative program has three founding partners: Cincinnati Children's Hospital, the Cincinnati-Hamilton County Community Action Agency/Head Start and the United Way of Great Cincinnati...

A new report from Ohio's police chiefs, sheriffs and prosecutors estimates that child abuse and neglect will create more than 110 new criminals in Hamilton County and nearly 1,900 across the state when abuse or neglected children grow up.

The leaders plan to thank U.S. Se. Mike DeWine, R-Ohio, for his support of the Education Begins at Home Act and encourage its speedy passage. The Act gives states more federal support for in-home parent coaching programs.
