Fight Crime: Invest in Kids Michigan is a non-profit anti-crime organization
led by 350 Michigan police chiefs, sheriffs, prosecutors, other law
enforcement leaders, and crime survivors who know that some of the most powerful
weapons in our arsenal to fight crime are programs proven to help kids
get the right start in life - like high quality after-school
programs, early childhood school readiness, child abuse and neglect
prevention, and programs that get troubled kids back on track.
Fight Crime: Invest in Kids Michigan evaluates crime prevention
strategies, informs the public and policymakers about those findings, and
urges investment in programs proven effective by research. We
have three active e-lists to provide the most timely information on this work.
The lists are: Early Education & Care, After-School, and Getting Troubled
Kids Back on Track. For more information or to be added to a list, please contact State Director K.P. Pelleran.
Our School and Youth Violence Prevention Plan has been endorsed by the
Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police, the Michigan Sheriffs'
Association, and the Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan.
Funding for Fight Crime: Invest in Kids Michigan comes from private
foundations, corporations and individuals. Fight Crime:
Invest in Kids Michigan receives no funds from federal, state or local
governments.
