Fight Crime: Invest in Kids Maine is an organization of over 125 police
chiefs, sheriffs, district attorneys, other law enforcement leaders and violence survivors.
Members include Maine's Attorney General, Commissioner of Public Safety as well as the Presidents
of the Maine Chiefs and Maine Sheriffs Associations. Fight Crime: Invest in Kids Maine is part of
the national, bipartisan, nonprofit anti-crime organization of more than 3,500 law enforcement
members.
Our national office is in Washington, DC. In addition to Maine, we have state offices in
California, Illinois, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Washington.
Fight Crime: Invest in Kids Maine is proud to have the Maine Chiefs of Police Association
and the Maine Sheriffs' Association as key endorsers of Fight Crime: Invest In Kids School
and Youth Violence Prevention Plan.
Fight Crime: Invest in Kids evaluates crime prevention strategies, informs the public and
policymakers about those findings, and urges investment in programs proven effective
by research. Our website is organized to focus attention on those strategies, including high
quality pre-kindergarten programs, prevention of child abuse and neglect, after-school programs
for children and teens, and interventions to get troubled kids back on track.
We do not fund or operate any direct service programs for children.
Funding for Fight Crime: Invest in Kids comes from private foundations, corporations and
individuals. Fight Crime: Invest in Kids receives no funds from federal, state or local
governments.
