KEY SENATE COMMITTEES Appropriations Budget Finance Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Judiciary KEY HOUSE COMMITTEES Appropriations Budget Education and Labor Judiciary Rules Ways and Means Appropriations http://www.senate.gov/~appropriations/ The Appropriations Committee, through the work of its 12 subcommittees, makes recommendations to Congress on how much money to allocate each year to specific programs. The Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services and Education oversees funding for Head Start, the Child Care and Development Block Grant, the 21st Century Community Learning Centers, the Social Services Block Grant, and other early childhood development, education, and child abuse prevention programs.
