Fight Crime: Invest in Kids is a national bipartisan anti-crime organization led by more than 5,000 police chiefs, sheriffs, prosecutors, other police leaders, and violence survivors. As leaders on the front-line in the battle against crime, our mission is to take a hard-nosed look at the research about what works to keep kids from becoming criminals.

Research and experience show that certain targeted investments in programs that give kids a good start in life will prevent children from engaging in later crime and violence. These investments include quality early education and care, child abuse and neglect prevention, in-school and after school programs, and programs that help troubled kids get back on track.

Early Care and Education

Early education programs can offer high-quality learning environments that prepare kids for school and help them avoid a life of crime.

Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention

Evidence-based home visiting programs can prevent child abuse and neglect and reduce later crime and violence.

In-School and After-School Programs

Enriching education for all kids leads to more successful individuals and communities.

Troubled Kids

Prevention and intervention programs that use research-based techniques are essential to making our schools and our neighborhoods safer.
